Cut windows when bread is hot out of the oven, let cool and get crisp
Get fresh, individually packaged lifesavers, crush lightly while still in package with smooth meat pounder until crumbled, but not powdery.
Place bread on foil-lined cookie sheet, smooth side up
Fill windows with pounded life savers up to edge or just a little to make very thin windows but making sure to fill the entire window opening…try fun things like half and half colors, one color with splashes of other colors, etc.
Place in 300 degree oven and watch as the lifesavers melt to a smooth, glassy look.
Let cool completely, then peel foil off of windows and put in a safe place until you are ready to construct your house. This can be done a week or so before the construction phase.
